Coach Tuan Kiet sets goals for SEA Games 33
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team closed the first stage of SEA V.League 2024 with the runner-up position. In the competition at the end of stage 1, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team and their Thai opponents gave fans an emotional match.
With enthusiastic cheers from the audience in Vinh Phuc gymnasium, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team played with effort and determination to lead the Thai girls 2-1. However, in the remaining 2 sets, the Thai team showed the class of the No. 1 team in Southeast Asia to come back to win 3-2.
Although it was a regrettable loss, Bich Tuyen and her teammates made history when this was the first time Vietnamese women's volleyball was able to win 2 sets against Thailand.
Talking to Lao Dong on August 5, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet said: "The recent match showed that the gap between Vietnamese and Thai women's volleyball is getting closer. Hopefully, at SEA Games 33 Next year, if there is enough force, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will play flat with Thailand right on Thai soil."
Bich Tuyen scored the most points
According to statistics after the 2024 SEA V.League trip, volleyball player Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is the player with the most points with 82 points. She is 30 points ahead of the 2nd ranked person - also the most comprehensive player of the leg, Chatchu - On Moksri of Thailand.
The remaining positions in the top 10 athletes scoring the most points in the trip respectively belong to Pimpichaya Kokram (Thailand - 44 points), Megawati Hangestri (Indonesia - 43 points), Purnama Arsela Nuari (Indonesia - 42 points), Solomon Alyssa Jae (Philippines - 41 points), Ajcharaporn Kongyot (Thailand - 33 points), Vi Thi Nhu Quynh (Vietnam - 31 points), Thatdao Nuekjang (Thailand - 29 points), Laure Ajiya (Philippines, 28 points) .
With the above impressive parameters, Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen received the title of "Best Passer" in the first leg.
Thailand returns home
Today (August 5), the Thai women's volleyball team returned to the country after participating in the 2024 SEA V.League leg in Vinh Phuc. Thatdao and his teammates played impressively, showing their class to win the championship in the first leg.
The girls of the Golden Temple also won individual titles. "Best Offensive Owner of SEA V.League 2024" was awarded to two athletes, Chatchu-on and Ajcharapor, "Best Libero" was Pannoy Piyanut, "Complete Athlete" was awarded to Chatchu- on.
The second leg of SEA V.League will be hosted by Thailand, taking place from August 9 to August 11.
