Men's team faces world superstar
On the evening of May 8, the Vietnam men's volleyball team left for Kyoto, Japan to compete in the 2025 Asian Club Championship (AVC Champions League). Coach Tran Dinh Tien and his team participated in the tournament called Sport Center 3.
In the group stage, Van Hiep and his teammates will face the star of world volleyball, Nimir Abdel - Aziz. The Dutch setter has joined Al Rayyan (Qatar) - Sport Center 3's opponent.
Born in 1992, with a height of 2m02, Nimir Abdel-Aziz has played for 15 different clubs in top-level competition from the club to the national team. The highlight of this setter is her powerful and very high-performance serves.

The titles of player/opponent/scoring player/Best serve player in tournaments that Nimir Abdel-Aziz participated in are all difficult to escape from this player. Therefore, this will be a huge challenge for coach Tran Dinh Tien's team in the upcoming tournament.
Determining 11 teams participating in the AVC Nations Cup
AVC Nations Cup 2025 will take place from June 7 to June 14 in Dong Anh, Hanoi. According to the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, 11 national teams have registered to participate.
The teams competing include host Vietnam, Australia, Kazakhstan, India, Indonesia, Iran, Hong Kong (China), Mongolia, New Zealand, the Philippines and Taiwan (China).

Thus, compared to last year's tournament with the old name AVC Challenge Cup 2024 held in the Philippines, this year's tournament increased from 10 to 11 participating teams thanks to the appearance of New Zealand.
With home advantage and championship achievements in the last two seasons, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team continues to be the leading candidate for the highest title in this year's tournament.
Time to check the quality of Dong Anh Stadium
Dong Anh District Gymnasium, Hanoi is the venue for the AVC Nations Cup 2025 volleyball tournament. Before the tournament starts, the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) will come to check the quality of the stadium.
It is known that AVC representatives are expected to visit Vietnam at the end of May to grasp the preparation of facilities for the AVC Nations Cup 2025. The Vietnam Volleyball Federation expressed its confidence that the facilities at Dong Anh District Gymnasium will ensure the organization of women's volleyball matches in accordance with Asian standards.

Currently, the Vietnam women's volleyball team is training in Quang Ninh. According to the plan, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team will go to Dong Anh in the last week of May to get acquainted with the field before officially competing.
