According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, the 4th Can Tho City Cross Country Race in 2025 will open and compete on April 6, on Vo Van Kiet Street, in front of Hung Kings Temple gate, Binh Thuy District, Can Tho City.
This is an activity to celebrate Hung Kings' Commemoration Day; 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), International Labor Day 1.5; and the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1990 - May 19, 2025).

The participants will expand to all organizations (departments, branches, sectors, unions, schools, hospitals, etc.) and individuals living, studying, and working in the city. The race does not limit age, only athletes under 18 years old must have a legal guardian, confirmed by a commitment to exempt from liability issued by the Organizing Committee.
Male athletes participating in the 10km distance (from 50 years old and under; from 51 years old and above), female athletes participating in the 5km distance (from 40 years old and under, from 41 years old and above). The limit time to complete the competition distance is 150 minutes from the start of the men's 10km and women's 5km events.
The running route is 10km from Hung Kings Temple, follow Vo Van Kiet Street (towards the airport), go back to the roundabout near Ba Bo Bridge, then return to Hung Kings Temple; 5km from Hung Kings Temple, follow Vo Van Kiet Street to the airport and return to Hung Kings Temple.

In addition, from April 10 to 27, Can Tho City will host the 2025 National 5x5 Basketball Championship and the 2025 National 3x3 Basketball Championship at the Multi-purpose Gymnasium - Can Tho City Sports Center.
The joint opening ceremony of the two tournaments is scheduled to take place on the evening of April 12. There are 15 men's teams and 6 women's teams participating in the National 5x5 Basketball Championship; there are 20 men's teams and 8 women's teams participating in the National 3x3 Basketball Championship in 2025.
The tournaments aim to continue to promote and encourage the development of the people's physical exercise movement, encourage students to participate in basketball training in Can Tho City. At the same time, through the tournament, athletes will be selected for the national team, participate in international competitions and evaluate the organization, training, construction and development of basketball; create conditions for athletes nationwide to compete and improve their professional qualifications.
