Ho Chi Minh City Club parted ways with Malaysian player Endrick dos Santos, defender Nguyen Thanh Thao, midfielder Nguyen Minh Trung and foreign player Joao Pedro.

On July 4, Ho Chi Minh City club confirmed the part-time of 4 players including midfielder Nguyen Minh Trung, defender Nguyen Thanh Thao, 2 foreign players Joao Pedro and Endrick dos Santos. Previously, the club also said goodbye to young player Hoang Vinh Nguyen.

This is considered part of Ho Chi Minh City's personnel adjustment plan. The simultaneous farewell of many players took place right after the team terminated the contract with head coach Phung Thanh Phuong.

Among the above players, Endrick dos Santos is the most notable case. Endrick was born in 1995, with Malaysian nationality. In the past season, he played regularly and contributed 2 goals and 5 assists. In addition to his performance in the V.League, he also participated in the training sessions of the Malaysian national team.

In the 2024-2025 season, Ho Chi Minh City club finished in 10th place in the V.League, only 3 points ahead of the team that had to play in the relegation play-off match, SHB Da Nang.

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City has not announced the identity of the new head coach. Changes in personnel show that the team is in the process of restructuring and preparing for the 2025-2026 season. The rebuilding of the force is considered necessary in the context of the team needing to improve performance and stabilize its position in the V.League.
