Vietnamese chess has a squad of many famous players participating in the 2026 Southeast Asian Youth and Age Group Championship held in Singapore.

Vietnamese chess players have arrived in Singapore, ready to compete in the 2026 Southeast Asian Youth and Age Group Championship from August 8 to 18. 8.

This time participating, Vietnamese chess brought to Singapore many young faces with good expertise such as Dau Khuong Duy, Dinh Nho Kiet, Pham Tran Gia Phuc, Nguyen Quoc Hy, Nguyen Hong Nhung, Mai Hieu Linh, Thai Ngoc Tuong Minh, Nguyen Thanh Thuy Tien, Nguyen Linh Dan, Le Thai Hoang Anh, Nguyen Ha Khanh Linh, Nguyen Xuan Phuong...

In addition, Vietnamese chess also has grandmasters participating in this tournament such as Le Tuan Minh, Tu Hoang Thong, Cao Sang, Bui Vinh.

The Vietnamese chess team has 177 players participating in the events in the tournament. For the Southeast Asian Youth Championship, players will compete in rapid chess, blitz chess and standard chess in the U10, U12, U14, U16, U18, U10 groups for men and women.

Standard chess competes first with 9 games according to the Swiss system. Each player has 90 minutes of competition plus 30 seconds per game (calculated from the first game).

Rapid chess competes for 25 minutes while lightning chess competes for 5 minutes.

For age group events, the Organizing Committee includes the Premier category for grandmasters. Grandmaster Le Tuan Minh of Vietnamese chess competes in this category.

The goal of Vietnamese chess is to win a gold medal at the 2026 Southeast Asian Youth Championship.
