The 2026 Asian Youth Chess Championship will kick off on July 16 local time in Shenzhen (China).
This year, the tournament attracts 31 countries and territories in Asia to send chess players to compete.
The Vietnamese chess team includes 80 chess players and will compete fully in rapid chess, blitz chess, and standard chess.
The competition composition of the Vietnamese Chess Team has many chess players predicted to have enough opportunities to compete for medals such as Banh Gia Huy, Dau Khuong Duy, Dinh Nho Kiet, Pham Tran Gia Phuc, Nguyen Xuan Phuong, Nguyen Nam Kiet, Nguyen Binh Vy, Mai Hieu Linh, Ton Nu Quynh Duong, Nguyen Ngoc Hien...
The whole team was present in Shenzhen (China) on July 15 to be ready to compete.
The goal of the Vietnamese chess team at the tournament is to win a gold medal.
According to the program, players will compete in 7 rapid chess games for men and women on July 16. Next, standard chess will compete in 9 games according to the Swiss system from July 17 to July 24. On July 24, 9 blitz chess games will also be organized to find champions in each group.
The Asian Chess Federation is competing in groups at this year's tournament including U8, U10, U12, U14, U18.
In this year's tournament, the 3 teams registering the largest number of players are host China (360 players), Vietnam (80) and Kazakhstan (60).
