On May 16, Nhan Dan Newspaper in coordination with the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports, the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City organized a press conference to inform about the 43rd Nhan Dan Newspaper National Table Tennis Championship for the PetroVietnam-PVCFC Cup in 2025. This year's tournament took place from May 19 to May 26 at Tien Son Sports Palace, Da Nang City.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Thao, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, said: "The tournament brings together many excellent athletes, so it will definitely attract a large number of table tennis fans in Da Nang, both spectators and players. Hopefully, the high level of the participating athletes will inspire and positively affect the playing style and tactical thinking of local tennis players. Thereby contributing to promoting the Da Nang table tennis movement to develop more strongly after this tournament".
The 43rd National Table Tennis Championship of the PetroVietnam-PVCFC Cup in 2025 was held in the context of the Vietnamese table tennis on a strong development, with encouraging achievements at both the national team and young athletes. According to Nhan Dan newspaper, this is the time when the athletes are focusing on the 33rd SEA Games and the National Sports Meeting of 2026. The recent outstanding results such as the women's single gold medal of Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh at the Southeast Asia Championship 2024, and the rise of the young athletes, are a clear evidence for the potential of the Vietnamese table tennis.
The national youth team also won 1 gold medal and 5 silver medals at the 2025 Southeast Asian Youth Championship. In particular, the victory of the couple Nguyen Duc Viet - Nguyen Van Tuan Anh (U15) and the couple Van Linh - Van Chi (U17) at the 2025 US Open Table Tennis Tournament was impressive, a large-scale tournament with nearly 1,500 athletes participating.
The 43rd Nhan Dan Newspaper National Table Tennis Championship for the PetroVietnam-PVCFC Cup in 2025 brings together nearly 200 athletes from 21 table tennis teams nationwide such as Hanoi, Hai Duong, Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa, Army and T&T Police.
