Conquering beautiful but challenging roads
Dalat Ultra Trail (DUT) 2025 attracted more than 6,500 athletes, a meaningful number in the 7th year of the event.
Dalat Ultra Trail's route is designed to ensure the challenging elements of a terrain race but still brings the full enjoyment of the special advantages of the highlands of Central Vietnam.
This year, the running route of the super terrain distances has changed compared to 2024 when athletes will have to conquer Lang Biang peak in the final leg of the race, instead of in the first leg of the race like last year. This requires athletes to have a reasonable strength distribution strategy to be able to overcome Lang Biang after a long journey.
Hien Tran - Representative of the International Tennis Running Association ITRA in Vietnam shared: "This year's DUT running route has changed. Athletes will run up the Rada hill and then continue to climb Langbiang through the stairs, then down by a rope.
This route is very interesting but much more difficult than previous years, the road after Langbiang is even more difficult, with a steep section that will be very challenging for those who are new to the trail".
Meanwhile, Quang Tran, coach of the Kilomet team, shared: This climb through Lang Biang is truly a challenge for the distances. Although everyone has a long time to prepare, the normal terrain when practicing does not have a high slope like Lang Biang (20% - 40%).
The appeal of Dalat Ultra Trail
March has an appointment with Dalat Ultra Trail, that is the way many runners use the term for this mountain race. For them, DUT is one of the most attractive races, they need to experience it directly.
Explaining why Dalat Ultra Trail has become an attractive annual race for the majority of professional and amateur trailers, athlete Trong Nhon said: "First of all, we must talk about Da Lat and March. Da Lat is a tourism brand, so those who run to Da Lat are a couple of jobs.
When arranging a competition journey, in addition to motivation to conquer themselves and the terrain, athletes have more excitement to enjoy a vacation. The tourism infrastructure is large enough to ensure logistics for tens of thousands of people, including athletes and their relatives. March has less beautiful weather than December every year but is more gentle.
Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, 37 years old, living in Ho Chi Minh City, who has participated in DUT for 7 consecutive seasons, emphasized that the mountain race in Da Lat has a special appeal. I cant explain, but it seems like there is an appointment with Da Lat and running trails arranged every time I think about a big plan for next year... I want to feel how Im continuing the journey of previous years, whether Im improving or stagnating to learn and improve more.
In addition to participating in Dalat Ultra Trail as an athlete, Mr. Phong is also a basic coach for first-time participants and provides in-depth guidance for his group of friends. I work for free because I want a community that is fun running because they like it fun and safe, Mr. Phong excitedly said.
Dalat Ultra Trail 2025 takes place from March 28 to 30, attracting more than 6,500 athletes to participate. Runners will conquer difficult but also attractive mountain running routes, with distances of 5km, 15km, 21km, 50km, 70km and 100km.
