In the early morning of June 7, Vietnam time, Arda Turan has officially withdrawn from the Turkish National Championship. The reason was that Turan assaulted a reporter from Milliyet - a major Turkish newspaper.
Specifically, on the return flight from Macedonia to Turkey (previously the Macedonia - Turkey friendly match), Arda Turan had a say in words with Milliyet reporter Bilal Mese. Unable to resolve the conflict, Turan rushed in to beat the reporter, causing chaos on the flight.
The conflict between Turan and Mese was also revealed, which are shortcomings in the prize matter of the Turkish Federation of Labor (TFF) with the national team at EURO 2016. Mese affirmed that the TFF had made " ambiguous" moves when announcing the players' bonuses. On the other hand, Turan somehow said that there was no such thing as embarrassment.
After beating Mese and withdrawing from the national football award, Turan still believes that he was not at fault for that action and decided to withdraw from his national football award to protect the honor of Turkish football.
"I had an inappropriate behavior on the plane while still wearing the DTQG shirt. However, I have no regrets about what I have done. I do not accept such words aimed at me and the State budget.
I will stop here. I still love the country and this shirt like the years I played for different levels of international football," Turan shared.
In the past 2 years, Turan has always been the brightest star of Turkish football and before leaving the national team, this midfielder still carried the captain's armband.
