During the match between Barcelona and Alaves in La Liga (2.2), Do Kim Phuc performed an artistic juggling performance in front of thousands of spectators at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium.
The Vietnamese representative performed many difficult moves to the song "A Peaceful New Year" by male singer Son Tung M-TP.
Interestingly, Kim Phuc chose the New Year theme with the traditional Vietnamese conical hat as the prop. With the desire to convey the Vietnamese Tet atmosphere, he also performed the act of spinning the ball on a peach blossom branch, which delighted fans.
At the end of the performance, the Asian freestyle champion received applause from the audience. He gave a conical hat and flowers to a young fan of FC Barcelona.
Sharing about this experience, Do Kim Phuc said: “I prepared very carefully because I was the first person to have the opportunity to perform at halftime at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium. Barcelona is a big team so I had to be very neat when appearing on the field.”
Kim Phuc's outfit and the ball were all prepared by the organizers. A slight difficulty during the performance was that the pitch was watered so it was quite slippery and the ball was not up to standard. However, the Vietnamese athlete overcame the obstacle to fly the Vietnamese flag on the 5th day of Lunar New Year at Barcelona's home stadium.
In addition to performing in Spain, Do Kim Phuc also received great news at the beginning of the new year when he was chosen to become the image ambassador of La Liga in Vietnam. With his new role, he is expected to be a bridge to bring the Spanish national football championship closer to Vietnamese audiences in the future.
The president of La Liga personally met and gave gifts to Kim Phuc, promising to create many opportunities for him to accompany the tournament as well as meet the players of the tournament.
Do Kim Phuc will continue to perform on the field of Real Sociedad club in the match against Espanyol on February 10.
