This year, the Asian Canoeing Federation is organizing events for the 2026 AFC U23 Championship from June 4 to June 7.
The coaching staff of the Vietnamese canoeing team informed from the competition venue that player Diep Thi Huong has won 3 gold medals from the competitions.
Diep Thi Huong's championship achievements are in the C1-200m, C1-500m and C1-1000m events respectively.
Diep Thi Huong is currently an athlete of the People's Police Sports and the Vietnamese Canoeing Team. The coaching staff of the team said that the 3 gold medals are an encouraging result for Vietnamese canoeers to continue to focus on competing in the next events until the last day.
Last year, the Youth Championship, AFC U23 Championship 2025 competed in Thailand. In this tournament, Cheo Diep Thi Huong also won gold medals for the U23 championship competition.
This year, the 2026 AFC U23 Championship attracted 350 athletes from 17 teams in the continent to participate. Athletes competed in all events for kayaks and canoes for men and women. The canoeing events took place in singles and doubles.
According to forecasts, the Vietnamese canoeing team will win some more championships in their forte events in the final competitions in Kazakhstan.
