Brand Ly was born in 2005, carrying two blood lines: Vietnamese and Irish. He is 1m75 tall and plays as a defensive midfielder and right back.
Currently, Brandon is playing for the Burnley U21 team and competing in the Scotland U23 tournament, a competition that is considered equivalent to the 5th or 6th place in the English football league system.
Although he has not played regularly and is not a prominent factor in the squad, Brandon has been closely monitored by the scouting team of the Hanoi Police Club in recent times. After the approach and negotiation process, the two sides reached a preliminary agreement. The main terms of the contract are almost complete and only waiting for some final details to be processed before being officially announced.
It is expected that at the end of June or the beginning of July, Brandon Ly will be in Hanoi to complete the procedures to join the team. Although still very young and not having much experience in professional competition, this deal is said to have cost a large sum of money from the police team.
Brandon does not have Vietnamese nationality, but he expressed his desire to wear the national team jersey in the future. That is also the reason why he proactively seeks opportunities to compete in the V.League and contacts brokerage firms to find suitable clubs. After researching, Brandon decided to choose Hanoi Police as the destination.
If he can demonstrate his ability in the new shirt, Brandon Ly can be supported to complete the procedures for naturalizing as a Vietnamese citizen and become a part of the strategy to develop Vietnamese-origin players for the national teams in the coming time.
