Hanoi karate team wins No. 1 position in the national club tournament in the Northern region

The Hanoi karate team has taken the lead in the events they competed in to win the first place overall at this year's tournament held in Hai Phong.

The 2026 National Club Karate Championship in the Northern region has closed in Hai Phong. Hanoi team ranked first overall with 17 gold medals, 11 silver medals and 15 bronze medals.

The Army and People's Police teams hold the second and third positions.

In the tournament, the Organizing Committee brought into competition 72 sets of medals for 4 age groups including 10-11, 12-14, 15-17 and over 18. The tournament attracted 23 teams, with nearly 500 athletes, from the Northern region to participate.

The tournament is the first official professional program of the national karate system that martial artists participate in this year. Therefore, many national athletes who are training have returned to their managing units to compete.

In which, the content of the age group over 18 has attracted the attention of experts.

In this age group, athletes have competed in individual male and female kata, team male and female kata, individual male kumite (50kg, 54kg, 58kg, 62kg, 66kg, 70kg, 74kg, 78kg, 82kg and over 82kg), individual female kumite (44kg, 47kg, 50kg, 53kg, 56kg, 59kg, 62kg, 65kg, 68kg and over 68kg), team male and female kumite.

After the tournament, the 2026 National Club Karate Championship in the Southern region will be held in Can Tho city from April 15 to 20. Then in May, the Central - Central Highlands regional tournament will take place in Ha Tinh.
