500 athletes participate in the Northern National Club Karate Tournament

The 2026 Northern National Club Karate Championship enters competition in Hai Phong from March 14.

The Vietnam Sports Administration and the host unit Hai Phong organized the opening ceremony of the 2026 National Club Karate Championship in the North.

The competition program takes place from March 14th to 18th. 3. All karate martial artists from units in the Northern region who are training the Vietnam Karate Team are participating in the competition.

The entire tournament recorded 500 athletes from 23 teams in the Northern region entering the competition. After this tournament, the Southern National Club Karate Championship will be held in Can Tho from April 9 to 14. 4. The Central-Central Highlands National Club Karate Championship takes place in Ha Tinh from May 3 to 8. 5.

At the Northern regional tournament, the Organizing Committee put into competition 75 sets of medals for kata (performance) and kumite (combat) in 4 groups including 10-11 years old, 12-14 years old, 15-17 years old and over 18 years old.

The coaching staff of the Vietnamese karate team is also present at the tournament to grasp the performance of the players as well as find new faces to supplement the training force.

Currently, the Vietnamese karate team training in 2026 has sufficient training staff after expert Hassan (Iran) officially returned to Vietnam from the 12th. 3. Vietnamese karate team athletes are training at the National High-Level Athlete Training Center.

This year, Vietnamese karate will prepare forces to participate in the 2026 Asian Championship, the 2026 Southeast Asian Championship and ASIAD 20.
