Top Southeast Asian karate martial artists will come to Vietnam to participate in the regional championship held at the Ninh Binh Provincial Sports and Physical Training Center.

The Southeast Asian Karate Federation has approved the granting of the right to host the Southeast Asian Championship to Vietnam. The competition program will be held in July 2026, at the Ninh Binh Provincial Sports Center.

Previously, Vietnam hosted the 2014 and 2018 Southeast Asian Championships. Ninh Binh Provincial Sports and Physical Training Center used to be the venue for karate at the SEA Games 31, 2022, when Vietnam was the host. This is also the venue for many important international sports tournaments in recent times, including the 2025 SEA V.League women's volleyball tournament.

According to the preparation, the Organizing Committee of the 2026 Southeast Asian Karate Championship will bring into competition 17 sets of medals for kata (performance) and kumite (combat) for the champion system in this tournament.

Southeast Asian karate fighters just participated in SEA Games 33 at the end of December last year in Thailand. They will continue to have the opportunity to compete for the Southeast Asian championship in Vietnam this year. The tournament is considered one of the important tests for all fighters aimed at participating in ASIAD 20 which will take place in Japan in September.

The coaching staff of the Vietnamese karate team will prepare the best force to register to compete in the 2026 Southeast Asian Championship held at home.

In 2025, we ranked No. 1 at the Southeast Asian Championship held in Brunei.
