Head coach Nghiem Viet Hung of the Vietnam Shooting Team said that the whole team has developed a professional plan for the 33rd SEA Games and received a target to strive for 7 gold medals.
The 33rd SEA Games shooting event will feature 30 events. In which the shooting competition program has 6 men's events, 8 women's events, and 2 mixed men's and women's events. The flying disc competition includes 4 men's events and 2 women's events for flying disc shooting. The applied shooting competition has 4 men's events and 4 women's events.
The Vietnamese shooting team will train shooters for sungoline content in Korea and gunmen in Thailand from November 20 to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games.
Shooting has returned to the competition program of the Southeast Asian Games in Thailand this time after being absent from the 32nd SEA Games in 2023 in Cambodia.
At the most recent competition, the 31st SEA Games in 2022 in Vietnam, the Vietnam Shooting Team won 7 gold medals, 6 silver medals, 4 bronze medals. Among them, shooters won 5 gold medals and flying disc shooters won 2 gold medals.
According to Mr. Nghiem Viet Hung, Olympic-time shooters Trinh Thu Vinh and Le Thi Mong Tuyen will continue to participate in the 33rd SEA Games. These are 2 faces that the Vietnam Shooting Team has high expectations of achieving high results.
