After traveling by night flight on July 11 from Hanoi, members of the Vietnam Men's Volleyball Team arrived in the Philippines on the morning of July 12.
The players then moved by road from Manila city to Candon to prepare to participate in the first leg of the SEA V.Cup 2026 tournament.
The coaching staff of the Vietnam Men's Volleyball Team said that the whole team still maintains good health and representatives of the Organizing Committee warmly welcomed the teams participating in this tournament.
The first stage of the 2026 SEA V.Cup tournament will be held from July 15 to July 19.
Coach and experts Federico Rampazzon and his team will have 3 days of training to get acquainted with the stadium before officially competing.
According to the draw at the first leg of the SEA V.Cup 2026, Group A has the Philippines (host), Indonesia, and Cambodia. Group B has teams from Vietnam, Thailand, and Myanmar.
At the tournament, the teams will play in a round-robin format in each group and select the 2 best teams from each group to advance to the semi-finals to compete for a final ticket. The team ranked 3rd in each group will meet to compete for 5th place.
Expert Federico Rampazzon set a goal for the Vietnamese men's volleyball team to reach the final in the first leg.
The last time the Vietnamese men's volleyball team played internationally was SEA Games 33 in December 2025.
After 7 months, Vietnamese men's players have returned to international tournaments.
In the first leg, coach Federico Rampazzo will register 14 players to compete including Phan Cong Duc, Dinh Van Duy, Duong Van Tien, Nguyen Ngoc Thuan, Tran Minh Duc, Tran Anh Tu, Tang Ngoc Hieu, Pham Quoc Du, Ly Van Chuong, Tran Duy Tuyen, Truong The Khai, Pham Thanh Tung, Cao Duc Hoang, Trinh Duy Phuc.
The second leg of the 2026 SEA V.Cup tournament will be held from July 22 to July 26 in Indonesia.
