The World Boxing Futures Cup 2026 international tournament program will be held in Thailand from March 8 to March 15.
The Vietnamese boxing team has sent a force of 9 young athletes to participate in the competition including Nguyen Trong Tien, Nguyen Minh Triet (male) and Tam Du, Mai Anh, Quynh Anh, Nguyen Thi Huyen, Lan Anh, Thuy Nhi, Hong Yen (female). The athletes are present in Thailand to prepare before the official match.
The 2026 World Boxing Futures Cup is for U19 age group athletes, and also a qualifying round for the 2026 Youth Olympic spot. This year, the 2026 Youth Olympics will be held in October in Senegal.
The boxing event of the 2026 Youth Olympics will organize competitions in 5 male weight classes and 5 female weight classes. The Games will have 120 official slots awarded to boxers with high results in the qualifying rounds.
At the 2018 Youth Olympics, boxing organized 13 weight classes, but Vietnamese sports did not have a player who won an official spot to participate. The goal of the Vietnamese boxing team is to win an official spot from the tournament in Thailand this year.
Over the past time, the players have been training to prepare professionally and do not take Tet breaks. The professional direction of the boxers who will compete at the World Boxing Futures Cup 2026 will be coaches Thanh Hai and Dinh Quan. On March 7, the events will be drawn before the competition.
