On January 29th in Hanoi, leaders of the Vietnam Sports Administration worked with the President of the World Boxing Federation, Mr. Daryl Peoples.
At the working session, the parties discussed many professional development programs in the coming time. In which, the World Boxing Federation chose Vietnam as the venue for the Annual Congress scheduled to take place from May 24 to May 30.
This is the 41st annual Congress of IBF and also for the first time, a country in Southeast Asia has been chosen by this organization as the venue for the programs.
In the working session, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration Nguyen Hong Minh highly appreciated the IBF's choice for Vietnam.
The parties agreed on support to proceed with the organization of the IBF Annual Congress. However, the IBF will have to carry out the procedures for applying for permission and comply with the provisions of Vietnamese law as well as the regulations of competent authorities for organizing international sports events in Vietnam as required.
Chairman Daryl Peoples believes that when the IBF Annual Congress is held, it will bring many advantages and opportunities to develop boxing for the host country. This event is expected to have the participation of 300 international delegates.
