Nguyen Thuy Linh is 1 of 5 faces of the Vietnamese badminton team awarded a spot to participate in the 2026 World Championships.

Based on their position in the BWF World Rankings, the Badminton World Federation has awarded official slots to 5 Vietnamese athletes to participate in the 2026 World Championships to be held in India in August.

Currently, Vietnamese players with slots include Nguyen Thuy Linh, Nguyen Hai Dang, Le Duc Phat, Nguyen Dinh Hoang, Tran Dinh Manh. We have slots to participate in men's singles, women's singles and men's doubles.

June is the time to decide the final list of the BWF for the 2026 World Championship. At that time, we will wait for an opportunity to have more slots to participate.

Last year, the Vietnamese badminton team was awarded a spot to compete in the 2025 World Championship in France with a force including Nguyen Thuy Linh, Vu Thi Trang, Le Duc Phat, Nguyen Hai Dang, Nguyen Dinh Hoang, Tran Dinh Manh. However, we did not have any players in the group with medal achievements.

The 2026 World Championship will take place from August 17 to August 23. This will be an important competition for Vietnamese players before participating in ASIAD 20 in Japan in September.

In the world rankings, Nguyen Thuy Linh is the highest ranked Vietnamese badminton player. She holds the 23rd place in the world women's singles. Thuy Linh's goal is to return to the top 20 in the world in 2026.
