The 2026 World Sepak Takraw Championship - King's Cup 2026 is being held in Bangkok (Thailand).
On the afternoon of August 7, the Vietnamese sepak takraw team excellently passed the semi-finals to participate in 2 finals in women's doubles and 4 women's.
In the women's doubles final against Myanmar, the coaching staff arranged 2 official players, Khanh Ly and Thu Trang, while Hong Lien played the role of substitute.
In the first half, with the advantage of effective attacking play, 2 Vietnamese players overwhelmingly defeated their opponent Myanmar with a score of 15-7.
Continuing to maintain the most determined fighting spirit, the Vietnamese players did not give the Myanmar players a chance to regain the game in the 2nd half.
At the end of this quarter, the Vietnamese women's sepak takraw team won 15-12.
Winning 2-0 in the final, the Vietnamese sepak takraw team won a gold medal in the women's doubles event at the 2026 World Championships.
This year is the 39th year the tournament has been held. After this final match, coach Tran Thi Vui's students competed in the final of the 4 women's event.
Our opponent in the decisive match is the host Thailand.
Players from both sides played tit-for-tat in each point in the final. The Vietnamese women's team took the lead in the first quarter with a score of 17-14.
However, we let the opponent reverse the situation in the next rounds, and the Thai women's team won with a score of 15-11, 15-13 in the remaining 2 rounds.
Regretfully losing 1-2 in the final, the Vietnamese women's sepak takraw team received a silver medal in the women's 4-person event.
The 2026 World Sepak Takraw Championship will continue until August 11.
