The Vietnamese chess team sent 6 players to participate in the tournament, including Vu Thanh An (men's U8 group); Le Phan Hoang Quan, Nguyen Nhat Khuong (men's U10); Nguyen Quang Anh, Trinh Nguyen Lam (men's U12) and Tran Duong Hoang Ngan (women's U12).
The tournament was opened on September 19 local time. In Kazakhstan this time, players compete in the standard chess event with 11 games according to the Swiss system.
In the first game of each group, Vietnamese chess had Vu Thanh An, Le Phan Hoang Quan, Nguyen Nhat Khuong win. The two players Nguyen Quang Anh and Trinh Nguyen Lam lost the first game. Snooker Tran Duong Hoang Ngan tied the head game.
This year's tournament will be held from September 19 to September 30, gathering more than 850 players from around the world to compete. The goal of the Vietnamese chess team is to strive for a medal in Kazakhstan.
Young Vietnamese players competing in Kazakhstan will therefore not be able to participate in the 2025 EChess Open Cup organized by the Vietnam Chess Federation to compete online via tornelo platform.
The tournament will take place at the same time at 4 locations including Hanoi, Hai Phong, Bac Ninh and Hue from September 21 to September 28 with 7 groups for men and women according to age groups. The total prize for each group is up to 25 million VND.
