Instead of the absence of many names, the Vietnamese chess team will have many promising young faces participating in the 2026 World Team Olympiad.

The 2026 World Team Chess Olympiad will take place in Uzbekistan from September 15 to September 28. The Vietnam Chess Federation decided to send young players to participate in this tournament.

The preliminary registered forces of the Vietnamese Chess Team for the 2026 Olympiad include: Banh Gia Huy, Dau Khuong Duy, Dang Hoang Son, Pham Tran Gia Phuc, Duong Vu Anh, Vo Thi Kim Phung, Bach Ngoc Thuy Duong, Nguyen Thi Mai Hung, Nguyen Hong Anh, Nguyen Binh Vy.

Among these, faces such as Bang Gia Huy, Dau Khuong Duy, Pham Tran Gia Phuc, Bach Ngoc Thuy Duong, Nguyen Binh Vy... are young chess players who have participated in many domestic and international tournaments and affirmed their achievements in the past time.

However, the Olympiad will have competition for achievements from top world chess players. Therefore, the Vietnamese Chess Team will be cautious in this year's competition.

With such a preliminary registration list, the Vietnamese chess squad will not have grandmasters Le Quang Liem, Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son, Le Tuan Minh, Tran Tuan Minh, Pham Le Thao Nguyen... at the 2026 Olympiad.

The competition result of the Olympiad is the team achievement. The results of each player on their table will be calculated and the overall achievement of the team in the tournament.

It is expected that at Olympiad 2026, coaches Lam Minh Chau and Bui Vinh will participate in directing the chess players to compete.

Recently, grandmaster Le Quang Liem spoke up to reveal the reason why he will be absent from the 2026 Olympiad to broaden public opinion.
