On the afternoon of December 4 in Chonburi (Thailand), coach Mai Duc Chung of the Vietnam women's team shared his views before the opening match of Group B of the 33rd SEA Games.

At the press conference, coach Mai Duc Chung assessed that this will be a more competitive SEA Games than before. He emphasized: "The 33rdEA Games is a very important tournament for football teams in the region.

In the past, every team has changed and improved. The Vietnam women's team, as the reigning SEA Games champion, needs to make every effort."

Talking about the opening match, Mr. Chung said: " Tomorrow (December 5), the Vietnam women's team will play its first match and also a key match, so we will be determined to win. We will not be subjective because the level of the teams has now been greatly improved".

When asked about the head coach of Malaysia, Mr. Chung showed respect for his opponent: "He comes from a strong football country, Brazil, so he may have many effective contributions to Malaysian football.

I really respect his ability. I believe the Vietnamese team can do better because they have the qualities to achieve many things at this SEA Games".

Regarding personnel work, he said that the whole team has prepared replacement options when many key players are injured. The coach shared: "We have been preparing for the SEA Games for more than a month.

I will boldly bring some young athletes to compete in this SEA Games. And will use older positions like Huynh Nhu in the most reasonable way".

The match between the Vietnamese women's team and the Malaysian women's team will take place at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow (December 5).
