The Vietnamese pencak silat team has arrived in Thailand to compete in the 2025 Southeast Asian Championship. The tournament is held from October 10 to October 15.
At the tournament, the Vietnamese pecak silat team had 14 fighters including Diem Quynh, Duc Hau, Quang Hieu, Chinh Nghia, Tan Tai, Tien Cuu, Thien Hai, Van Quy, Hai Tien, Huy Hoang, Manh Hung, Thanh Hieu, Nguyen Thi Thao, My Dung. The players will compete in content for competition and performance.
Currently, the Vietnam Pencak Silat Team is preparing for the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand, so athletes competing in the Southeast Asian tournament have more opportunities to accumulate expertise. It is expected that the venue for the 2025 Southeast Asian Championship will be the venue for the pencak silat competition of the 33rd SEA Games at the end of this year. The team will be managed at the 2025 Southeast Asian Championship by head coach Nguyen Van Hung.
In July this year, Vietnam organized the pencak silat Asian Championship for the first time at the Ha Tinh Provincial Gymnasium. At the end of the competition, the Vietnamese fighters won 17 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 7 bronze medals to rank the whole group. In this tournament, many key athletes preparing for the 33rd SEA Games also participated. 2 years ago, the Vietnam Pencak Silat Team won 4 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 9 bronze medals.
