Ha Tinh female athlete wins gold medal at Pencak Silat Asian Championship

Ha Tinh - Nguyen Le Quynh Chi has just excellently won the gold medal at the 9th Pencak Silat Asian Championship in 2025.

On the afternoon of July 30, at the Ha Tinh Provincial Sports Stadium, female athlete Nguyen Le Quynh Chi (born in 2002, residing in Song Tri Ward, Ha Tinh Province) competed in the 80kg weightlifting final when meeting female athlete Khooshaboo (Indian team).

In the final match, Nguyen Le Quynh Chi played very confidently, continuously leading the opponent.

As a result, after 3 matches, Quynh Chi defeated her opponent with a score of 59-15, thereby winning the gold medal in the women's 80kg weight class in the opponent group.

Winning the gold medal, Quynh Chi shared: "I am very happy and joyful to win the final match. The moment the national flag was running on the mat of Ha Tinh Sports Stadium moved me very much".

Quynh Chi is the champion of the 2024 Pencak Silat World Championship in the 80kg weight class.

The 9th Pencak Silat Asian Championship in 2025 will be held in Ha Tinh from July 24 to 30 with the participation of athletes from 10 countries in Asia including: Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Laos, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

The teams competed in 32 events corresponding to 32 sets of medals, divided into two groups: Tanding and performance (seni).

The competition group includes 24 events corresponding to 24 weight categories, including 13 men's weight categories and 11 women's weight categories.

The performance rights section has 8 contents including: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, men's teamwork, women's teamwork, men's creativity, women's creativity.
