According to the announcement from the Vietnam Football Federation, the Thai team will land at Noi Bai Airport (Hanoi) at 11:50 tomorrow (December 6). The team nicknamed "War Elephants" will have a match with Timor Leste at 20:00 on December 8.
Previously, Timor Leste, as the host team, had been in Hanoi since December 4. Coach Milan Petkovic's team rented Hang Day Stadium to register as the home stadium for the group stage matches of the 2024 AFF Cup because the country does not have any stadium that meets the standards of the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF).
The Timor Leste team has arrived in Vietnam and started training at Hang Day Stadium today (December 5).
Initially, Timor Leste proposed to choose Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho) as the home stadium for matches in Group A. However, because the Vietnamese team registered for Viet Tri Stadium, Timor Leste moved to Hang Day Stadium.
Group A of the AFF Cup 2024 is a competition between the teams of Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Singapore and Timor Leste.
At Hang Day Stadium, Timor Leste will meet Thailand (December 8) and Singapore (December 17).
