Vietnamese team wins 7 medals at World Beach wrestling Championships

The events of the 2026 World Beach wrestling Championship held in Da Nang city ended on the last day of competition 10. 5.

Closing the competition program on the beach in Da Nang city, the Vietnamese wrestling team won 7 medals.

The above results include 2 gold medals, 1 silver medal, 4 bronze medals.

The gold medal achievement was won by athlete Do Ngoc Linh in the women's 50kg weight class and Dang Thi Linh in the women's 70kg weight class.

The silver medal of the Vietnamese wrestling team at the 2026 World Beach Wrestling Championships belonged to athlete Nguyen Thi Linh in the women's over 70kg weight class.

Meanwhile, the bronze medal results belonged to Doan Thi Kim Oanh (50kg women), Lai Dieu Thuong (70kg women), Nguyen Thi My Hanh (60kg women), To Thi Minh (over 70kg women).

In this year's women's events, in each weight class, athletes compete in a round-robin format to calculate points and select the best performer to award the championship.

In the opposite direction, the Vietnamese wrestling team did not win a medal in the 4 weight classes for men's athletes. Although Vietnamese men's wrestlers focused with the highest determination, against many strong opponents, we stopped at the 70kg, 80kg, 90kg and over 90kg weight classes.

This year is the first time the World Wrestling Federation has awarded Vietnam the right to host the 2026 World Beach Wrestling Championships. The host team has registered 21 athletes to compete in the events of the tournament.

The 2026 World Beach Wrestling Championship takes place in 5 stages through each stage. After the stage in Vietnam, the 2026 World Beach Wrestling Championship continues to compete in Croatia.
