The meeting will start on September 22 to discuss regional tournaments, and the AFF panel will discuss the proposal to host the 2034 World Cup the next day, said Mr. Joko Driyono.
The possibility of Southeast Asia participating in this race will only be decided after the AFF board meeting in Bali, Indonesia. In addition, the number of countries in the host region and specific benefits will be discussed.
According to Mr. Driyono, the rotation of the VCK World Cup holding area is the factor that makes the 2034 World Cup chosen instead of other years. Africa (South Africa) and South America (Brazil) successfully hosted the VCK World Cup 2010 and 2014. The 2018 and 2022 VCK World Cup will be hosted by Russia (China) and Qatar (Asia).

The number of countries in Southeast Asia selected will probably be 2 or more. The final dossier will be submitted to FIFA in 2026. Previously, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia co- hosted the 2007 VCK Asian Cup.
