Duong Quoc Hoang enters the last 16 of the 2025 9-a-side World pool Championship

On the evening of July 24, player Duong Quoc Hoang became the only representative of Vietnam to participate in the 1/8 (last 16) round of the 2025 9-a-side World Pool Tournament.

In the match of round 1/16, the player nicknamed "Mars Star King" played impressively to win 11-6 against Marvin Asis.

With a solid, sharp playing style and high concentration, Duong Quoc Hoang quickly controlled the game. Although he sometimes revealed his negligence, he still maintained a safe distance when the opponent could not take advantage of the opportunity. In key matches, Hoang played tightly and bravely, ending the match with a convincing victory.

Previously, in the third quarter of 2022, Duong Quoc Hoang also defeated Daniel Maciol (Poland) with a score of 11-6. This match was once tense to a score of 5-5, but the turning point came when Hoang made a "golden break" in the 12th game, scoring right after the free kick. This miraculous strike helped him create a great psychological advantage to overwhelm the opponent in the rest of the match.

Meanwhile, the remaining player of Vietnam, Luong Duc Thien, stopped in the third quarter after losing 4-11 to Ameer Ali. The opponent from the Middle East has a stable performance, plays accurately and makes good use of every opportunity, making Thien unable to create a surprise.

With the penalty shootout in the round of 16, Duong Quoc Hoang is continuing the proud journey of the Vietnamese players in the world arena. The matches in the last 16 will take place this afternoon (July 25, Vietnam time), promising many dramas and excitements.
