Duong Quoc Hoang and Luong Duc Thien were the first to launch and both won. On the next day of competition, Nguyen Anh Tuan, Bui Truong An and Pham Phuong Nam continued to participate.
Nguyen Anh Tuan created a big surprise when he defeated seed number 15 Pijus Labutis with a score of 9-8, thereby winning the right to enter the second round of the winning bracket. This achievement marks a significant step forward for Anh Tuan compared to last year, when he lost both matches right from the first round.

On today's competition day (July 23), matches in the second round of both the winning and losing branches will take place. Duong Quoc Hoang will face Daniel Maciol at 5:00 p.m., while Luong Duc Thien will face Denis Grabe at the same time. Nguyen Anh Tuan will meet Henry Nguyen at 6:30 p.m. Truong An's next opponent in the losing branch has not yet been determined.
The World 9-Ball pool Tournament is the most prestigious event in the pool event, with a total prize of up to 1 million USD and gathering 128 top players in the world. The tournament took place from July 21 to 26, in a double format to select 64 players to the knockout round.
With the current results, the remaining 4 Vietnamese players have secured a prize of at least 2,000 USD, while Pham Phuong Nam left with 1,000 USD. If they continue to win, they will enter the knockout round. The final champion will receive a prize worth $250,000.
