On the afternoon of September 23, Duong Thuy Vi of wushu entered the women's martial arts competition after temporarily ranking fourth in the swordplay event. The Vietnamese female martial artist achieved 9.703 points in the first test, equal in points with Patricia Geraldine (Indonesia) but ranked behind due to inferiority criteria.
This result makes the medal competition continue to be fierce in the trading competition. Thuy Vi needs a good performance to improve her position in the overall rankings.
In the swordplay test, Thuy Vi achieved 9.710 points. Plus 9.703 points in the swordplay part, she had a total score of 19.413 and rose to third place, thereby winning a bronze medal at ASIAD 20.
The gold medal belonged to Yao Yang (China), while Kida Nanoha (Japan) won the silver medal.
This is the second time Duong Thuy Vi has won a medal in the women's swordplay and martial arts events at ASIAD. At the 2014 Incheon ASIAD, the female martial artist born in 1993 once won a gold medal in this event.
After 12 years, Thuy Vi continues to be present on the ASIAD medal podium. At the age of 33, the experienced female martial artist of Vietnamese Wushu still maintains stable form and completes two performances well at ASIAD 20.
Duong Thuy Vi's bronze medal contributes to the achievement of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at ASIAD 20.
