On the afternoon of October 7, the Malaysia Football Association (FAM) homepage continued to post articles related to the FIFA Disciplinary Committee's penalty for FAM and 7 naturalized players in the national team of this country.
Accordingly, FAM affirmed that "Fifas' description of the incident is incorrect", especially the accusation that the players "received or were well aware of the forged documents".
FAM said that no convincing evidence was provided to prove this. The organization stressed that the seven naturalized players are all legal Malaysian citizens.
FAM also admitted that the incident originated from an administrative error, when an employee submitted the wrong documents provided by the agent instead of the official documents issued by the National Registration Board of Malaysia (JPN). This is the reason why FIFA assessed the dossier as fake and decided to impose a penalty.
Currently, FAM said that an official appeal is being prepared, based on original, legal documents and has been confirmed by the Malaysian Government.
The Football Association of Malaysia is committed to submitting an appeal to FIFA as soon as possible, while emphasizing its determination to protect the safety and honor of Malaysian football on the basis of legality and authentication evidence.
FAM also affirmed its steadfast stance in protecting the integrity of national football, and hoped FIFA would review the case in a fair and objective manner.
