As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper on September 30, 2025, on social networks, a young man appeared unconscious in an alley on Nguyen Chi Thanh Street, suspected to be electrocuted.
On October 1, speaking with reporters, the leader of the People's Committee of Giang Vo Ward, Hanoi City, said that the Investigation Police Agency of Hanoi City Police is investigating the case of a man suspected of being electrocuted, leading to critical condition, which occurred in the area.
According to initial information, at around 3:30 p.m. on September 30, people discovered a man lying unconscious in a small alley on Nguyen Chi Thanh Street, Giang Vo Ward. The victim was quickly taken to the Transport Hospital for emergency treatment in critical condition.
Although doctors were dedicated to treating him, according to people familiar with the victim, the man did not survive.
The leader of Giang Vo Ward People's Committee said that the investigation agency is currently conducting an assessment of the cause of death. When there is an official conclusion, the ward will provide specific information. It is still impossible to confirm that the victim died from electrocution.
It is known that the victim had been partying with a group of friends before, and was unconscious on the way back from passing by the above location. Immediately afterwards, electricity staff were present to check and initially determined that there were no electric poles around the area. The ward police also coordinated to take the victim to the Transport Hospital for emergency care.
As soon as the information was received, the authorities and electricity workers quickly arrived at the scene. Preliminary inspection results show that the area has no electric poles or open wires, excluding the risk of electric leakage from the public power system.
The case is currently being investigated by the Criminal Police Department of Hanoi City Police in coordination with professional units to clarify the exact cause of the victim's death.
