The Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports organizes the 2026 National Muay Referee Professional Training Class at the National Defense Sports Center 2, Military Region 7 (HCMC).
The training program takes place from June 1 to June 7 with the participation of nearly 200 trainees who are referees, coaches, and muay management staff in localities across the country.
Notably, the class has lectures by international experts.
Among them, 3 senior technical experts of the World Muay Federation, Mr. Ajam Ryan Sacha Rudkin, Ajam Chao Wathayotha, and Ms. Diong Chea Ying, are teaching at the training class to present many contents through the sessions.
Students will be standardized in knowledge, professional competition rules for sparring and performance content from the class.
At the same time, the Muay (Vietnam Physical Education and Sports Department) aims to standardize the expertise of referees to participate in officiating at the X-2026 National Sports Games at the end of this year.
On June 3rd at the training class, the General Secretary of the Asian Muay Federation, Mr. Mervyn Tan, participated in exchanging with trainees on the topic of safeguarding in sports so that Vietnamese Muay referees and coaches could better grasp professional factors.
After the theory study period, students will practice and be tested before receiving the training class certificate. It is expected that the muay sport of the X-2026 National Sports Games will be held at Nguyen Du Gymnasium (HCMC).
