On July 5, the 2026 National Youth Judo Championship opened at the Thanh Hoa Provincial Sports Center, with the participation of nearly 700 athletes from 19 provinces, cities and units across the country.
The tournament takes place until July 12, gathering delegations from An Giang, Ministry of Public Security, Bac Ninh, Ca Mau, Can Tho, Da Nang, Dong Nai, Dong Thap, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hue City, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, Ninh Binh, Army, Thanh Hoa, Thai Nguyen and Vinh Long.
Athletes will compete in 90 events belonging to four age groups including 10-11, 12-13, 14-15 and 16-19.
According to the organizers, this is the tournament with the largest number of athletes participating to date, reflecting the development of the youth Judo movement in localities and units across the country.

The 2026 National Youth Judo Championship is considered an opportunity for localities to evaluate the training of young athletes, and at the same time create opportunities for young talents to rub shoulders and accumulate competition experience. Through the tournament, athletes with good achievements will be considered for addition to the youth teams and national teams in the near future.
According to the plan, the tournament will close on July 12 with a closing and award ceremony.
