The 2026 Mongolia Grand Prix Judo Tournament is held from June 19 to June 21.
In this tournament, martial artist To Thi Trang is 1 of 4 faces selected by the Vietnam Judo Team to compete.
Before going to Mongolia to compete this time, To Thi Trang won a gold medal in the women's 48kg category at the 2026 Southeast Asian Championships held in Bac Ninh.
She continued to compete in the women's 48kg weight class at the Mongolia Grand Prix 2026 but met a strong opponent, Korjung Su Jin (Korea). Right in the first match, To Thi Trang lost and stopped.
Also in the women's 48kg weight class, martial artist Ha Ngoc Chi competed, but her opponent was the world's leading martial artist Petit Lois (Belgium). Ngoc Chi also lost the match and was eliminated from the tournament.
In the 52kg women's weight class, the Vietnamese judo team had 2 martial artists Nguyen Thi Tuyet Han and Lam Thi Ngan Ha participating but did not have a positive result, losing the first match.
The coaching staff of the Vietnamese judo team said that the judo Grand Prix Mongolia 2026 competition program is to help athletes accumulate points in the personal rankings to prepare for the opportunity to compete for a ticket to the 2028 Olympics.
After the tournament in Mongolia, the next round of the 2026 Grand Prix takes place in China from June 26 to 28, but it is expected that Vietnamese judo fighters will not participate.
