Speaking at the award ceremony, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province Nguyen Minh Luan said that through the race, the Organizing Committee conveyed the message "Ca Mau is a safe destination, a place with amazing natural landscapes, fresh climate, a land with gentle, kind and hospitable people". Through the race, the aim is to create a vibrant sports movement, ensure safety, and create a beautiful image of "Ca Mau Rendezvous" in the hearts of tourists.
The 2024 PETROVIETNAM Cup Marathon - Ca Mau took place on November 9 and 10, attracting 6,000 athletes to compete in distances of 42km, 21km, 10km, 5km and distances of 1.2km and 2.4km for young athletes from 6 to 15 years old. This year's tournament attracted many professional, amateur and disabled athletes to participate in the tournament and received enthusiastic support from fans.
At the end of the tournament, the Organizing Committee awarded first, second and third prizes to athletes with high achievements in the distances of 42 km, 21 km, 10 km and 5 km. In particular, the first prizes in the distance of 42 km for men and women respectively belonged to athletes Le Tan Hi and athlete Pham Thi Binh. In addition, the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group also awarded additional prizes to outstanding athletes who are working in the Group's fields.
This year's tournament is associated with the 70th anniversary of the Northern Rally (1954 - 2024).
