Hoang Nguyen Thanh and Hoang Thi Ngoc Hoa are the defending champions of the marathon – 42km men's and marathon – 42km women's events at the National Marathon Championship of Tien Phong Newspaper.
Both have just participated in the Tokyo Marathon 2026 (Japan). At this time, Nguyen Thanh and Ngoc Hoa have returned home, starting professional preparation towards competing in Khanh Hoa.

In 2025, Hoang Nguyen Thanh won the men's marathon – 42km with a result of 2 hours 32 minutes 24 seconds. Hoang Thi Ngoc Hoa finished first in the women's event, achievement: 2 hours 42 minutes 10 seconds.
This year's tournament will be held on the morning of March 29.
