More than 1,000 athletes compete for the 50km distance of the Vietnam Highlands Trail Running Race

Lam Dong - More than 1,000 athletes across the country compete at the Vietnam Highlands Trail Athletics Tournament - Lam Dong 2025.

At exactly 5 am on January 10, at the starting line of Lavender tourist area, belonging to Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Area (Xuan Huong ward - Da Lat, Lam Dong), 50km athletes officially entered the journey to conquer the Vietnam Highlands Trail – Lam Dong 2025 Running Tournament.

In the typical weather conditions of Da Lat, the temperature is only about 8 degrees Celsius, thick fog covers the starting area, the early morning atmosphere is still vibrant due to the determination of the runners.

Starting from dawn in the cold and complex terrain is considered the first challenge, and also the most memorable experience for athletes in the 50km distance - the longest and most difficult distance of the race.

Vietnam Highlands Trail - Lam Dong 2025 marks the return after a period of postponement. Previously, the tournament was scheduled to be held in November 2025 but had to be stopped due to the impact of storms and floods.

The restart of the tournament demonstrates the great efforts of the Organizing Committee including the People's Police Sports Association, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee and Nexus Media Joint Stock Company, under the direction of the Ministry of Public Security.

According to the Organizing Committee, this year's season gathers 1,031 athletes, including 15 international athletes from 7 countries and territories. Athletes compete in 3 distances including 10km, 25km and 50km.

Notably, the achievements at the tournament were recognized on the international off-road running ranking system, contributing to affirming the professionalism and prestige of the Vietnam Highlands Trail.

To ensure safety for more than 1,000 athletes crossing forests and streams, Lam Dong Provincial Police have synchronously deployed plans to ensure security, order and rescue and relief.

Functional forces are deployed at traffic junctions and dangerous forest roads. The local health sector also set up first aid stations along the runway, ready to support athletes when necessary.

According to the plan, the athletes will finish in turn in the afternoon of the same day; the award ceremony will be held at Lam Vien Square, next to Xuan Huong Lake scenic spot - Da Lat.
