The organizers of the 2026 National Chess Championship said that more than 150 chess players from many units across the country will participate in competitions in Hai Phong from March 6 to March 16.
Top Vietnamese chess giants such as Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son, Le Tuan Minh, Tran Tuan Minh, Hoang Thi Bao Tram, Vo Thi Kim Phung, Pham Le Thao Nguyen, Nguyen Anh Dung, Cao Sang, Dao Thien Hai, Nguyen Thi Mai Hung, Luong Phuong Hanh... are present.
All young chess players with Vietnamese chess level such as Dau Khuong Duy, Dinh Nho Kiet, Banh Gia Huy, Pham Tran Gia Phuc, Bach Ngoc Thuy Duong, Ngo Duc Tri, Nguyen Xuan Phuong, Nguyen Binh Vy, Ton Nu Quynh Duong, Nguyen Ha Khanh Linh.., also registered to compete.
The tournament will compete in standard chess, rapid chess, blitz chess, super blitz chess and ASEAN chess according to regulations.
This year, the competition program of the 2026 National Chess Championship is not included in the results of the X-2026 National Sports Games.
The Vietnam Chess Federation stipulates that chess players will compete in 11 games according to the Swiss system in the events.
The overall ranking is based on the following order: total points; total head-to-head points in the group of players with the same group of points; progressive coefficient; Buchholz coefficient; number of winning games; number of deferred games; number of deferred wins", announced by the Organizing Committee of the tournament.
