The Vietnamese chess team competing in the 33rd SEA Games includes Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son, Le Tuan Minh, Bang Gia Huy (male), Pham Le Thao Nguyen, Vo Thi Kim Phung and Bach Ngoc Thuy Duong (female).
The delay in Vietnamese chess players coming to Thailand depends on the competition program. The chess content of the 33rd SEA Games chess tournament will be held from December 18.
This year, host Thailand brought up the men's double chess and women's double chess. The Vietnamese chess team is confident that it will strive to achieve the highest results.
In the squad participating in the 33rd SEA Games, the pair of chess players Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son and Pham Le Thao Nguyen are a couple. The king's flag was held at the 31st SEA Games in 2022 in Vietnam.
At that time, Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son won the individual gold medal for standard and fast flags. Grandmaster Le Tuan Minh won the gold medal for individual and team flag fighting and team fast flag.
Grandmaster Pham Le Thao Nguyen won the gold medal for the fast flag, individual flag fighting for women and the silver medal for the women's team fast flag (with Vo Thi Kim Phung) at the 31st SEA Games. This year, grandmaster Le Quang Liem will not compete in the 33rd SEA Games.
