On November 17, the Phan Thiet Marathon 2024 - Green Journey was held in Phan Thiet city. The race attracted more than 3,000 athletes, including more than 80 foreign athletes.
Phan Thiet Marathon 2024 has many different distances for amateur athletes, semi-professional athletes, professional athletes both domestic and foreign to participate. The new feature of this year's season is the appearance of the 30km distance, creating a new marathon with 5 competition distances: 5km - 10km - 21km - 30km - 42km.
Athletes compete on the DT.719B coastal route, starting and finishing at NovaWorld Phan Thiet. The event is an opportunity for athletes to compete and watch the sunrise on the new route, relax, have fun and learn more about Binh Thuan through culture, cuisine and tourism.
Mr. Nguyen Nam Long, Vice Chairman of Phan Thiet City People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee, said: Phan Thiet Marathon is a race that Phan Thiet City aims to organize annually, contributing to promoting the image of Phan Thiet tourist city closer to domestic and foreign tourists with the spirit of spreading the message "Green Journey". In this year's tournament, Phan Thiet Marathon 2024 also welcomed more than 200 young athletes participating in 2 distances of 600m and 1,200m.
The tournament also encourages local movements, promoting the spirit of physical exercise and sports in the community. Phan Thiet Marathon recognizes the efforts of athletes to break through and overcome their own limits, igniting the community's inspiration for mass sports, arousing the spirit of physical exercise, sports, and health training for everyone.
At the end of the tournament, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to athletes in the male and female categories, finishing first, second, and third in each distance.
