Ha Nam - Phu Ly City will merge 4 communes to establish 2 new wards, Tan Liem and Tan Hiep, with a population of nearly 25,000 people.

The National Assembly Standing Committee recently held a meeting to consider and decide on the arrangement of administrative units at district and commune levels for the 2023-2025 period of 12 provinces and cities.

Localities considered for administrative unit arrangement in this period include: An Giang, Dong Thap, Ha Nam, Hanoi, Ha Tinh, Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Tho, Son La, Quang Ngai, Quang Tri, Tra Vinh, Vinh Phuc.

This information is receiving the attention of many people.

According to the policy of arranging commune-level administrative units in the period of 2023-2025, Phu Ly City (Ha Nam) will merge the entire natural area and population size of Liem Tuyen commune (with a natural area of ​​3.314km², reaching 15.78% of the standard; population size of 5,433 people, reaching 67.91% of the standard) and Liem Tiet commune (with a natural area of ​​5.697km², reaching 27.13% of the standard; population size of 7,244 people, reaching 90.55% of the standard) to establish Tan Liem ward.

Notably, after its establishment, Tan Liem ward will have a natural area of ​​9,011km², reaching 163.84% of the standard), a population of 12,677 people, reaching 181.10% of the standard.

Phu Ly City will also merge the entire natural area and population size of Tien Hiep commune (with a natural area of ​​5.105km², reaching 24.31% of the standard; population size of 5,515 people, reaching 68.94% of the standard) and Tien Tan commune (with a natural area of ​​7.479km², reaching 35.61% of the standard; population size of 6,793 people, reaching 84.91% of the standard) to establish Tan Hiep ward.

After establishment, Tan Hiep ward will have a natural area of ​​12,584km², reaching 228.80% of the standard, and a population of 12,308 people, reaching 175.82% of the standard.
