The 2025 National Youth Swimming Championship will take place from July 5 to 10, at the Da Nang City Swimming and Diving Club organized by the Vietnam Association of Water Sports in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
This year's National Youth Swimming Championship is highly competitive with the participation of many athletes, including excellent young swimmers from all over the country. The tournament attracted the participation of more than 400 athletes from more than 30 sports delegations of units and localities, competing for 128 sets of medals for men and women.
According to the regulations, athletes compete in the following events: 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1,500m freestyle; 50m, 100m, 200m frog, back and butterfly; 200m, 400m mixed; 4x100m, 4x200m freestyle; 4x100m mixed...
Among the participating delegations, Ho Chi Minh City is highly appreciated. At the 2025 National Youth Swimming Championship held in May in Tien Giang, Ho Chi Minh City swimmers won overwhelmingly with 52 HCV, 61 HCB, 44 HCD.
The tournament in Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City continues to bring strong forces with athletes such as: Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Tien, Trinh Tuong Vinh... Another highly appreciated unit is the 4 Defense Sports and Physical Training Center with young swimming talents such as: Duong Van Hoang Quy, Nguyen Thuy Hien.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the tournament, Mr. Nguyen Trong Thao - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang said that from these tournaments, Vietnamese sports and Da Nang sports have selected many outstanding faces to compete successfully in national, regional and world arenas.
Da Nang Swimming has 31 athletes participating, including: Hoang Quang Dat, Le Van Chieu, Vo Minh Tai, Phan Duc Bao Khang, Nguyen Nam Thanh, Tran Thai Tuong, Nguyen Tri Viet, Le Thi Thuy Trang, Tran Ngoc Bang Tam... Leading the team are coaches with a lot of experience in training swimming athletes including: Hoang Dinh Long, Pham Truong Giang, Nguyen Hai Trieu, Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh, Le Quang Hoa.
"Through this tournament, the Organizing Committee hopes that the swimming training movement in Da Nang in particular and the whole country in general will continue to develop strongly, attracting many different subjects and ages to participate in training and competition, contributing to controlling and minimizing drowning accidents. At the same time, through the tournament, the Organizing Committee will select talented and excellent athletes to the national team in the coming time," said Mr. Thao.
The tournament was held at home, the Da Nang swimming team created conditions for most young athletes to participate to increase their ability to compete for medals, and at the same time, it was an opportunity to compete and improve their professional skills.
