The walking program "Joining Vietnam to Advance" is co-organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Ministry of Public Security towards the goal of 10 billion green steps to help reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and is expected to set a Guinness World Record for the largest number of localities simultaneously participating in environmental walking activities to date.
On the morning of August 30, the walking program "Joining Vietnam to Advance" 2026 was connected in 34 provinces and cities across the country.
The bridge point program in Ho Chi Minh City was held on Le Duan street, in front of the Reunification Hall area. From more than 5:00 am, thousands of people were present to respond to this meaningful event. Attending the program were Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, along with leaders of departments, agencies, branches, agencies and units in the area.
After watching the Flag Raising Ceremony at Ba Dinh Square (Hanoi city), performing the flag salute ceremony, singing the National Anthem, more than 6,000 people enthusiastically participated in the walking program in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the schedule, the athletes participate in a 1.5km walking distance with a route starting from the 30.4 Park area, Le Duan street through Cong Xa Paris to Dong Khoi street, Le Thanh Ton, Pasteur and finishing on Le Duan street.
In addition to responding to the program "Joining Vietnam to Advance", for Ho Chi Minh City, this is also one of the meaningful and practical activities to celebrate the 81st anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2026), National Day September 2nd and the 81st anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese People's Police (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2026).
Through this, the local organizing committee wishes to strengthen the spirit of solidarity, community cohesion, consolidate the close relationship between the People's Police force and the people; contribute to promoting the image of Ho Chi Minh City, spreading the message of green living, emission reduction, environmental protection and sustainable development.
