Huynh Thi My Tien is the only player of the Vietnam Athletics Team to receive a special allowance to participate in this year's tournament. World Athletics WA has required athletes participating in the womens category at the 2025 World Championship to have a mandatory gender test before competing. From September 2025, tournaments in the official competition system of the World Athletics - WA will do this.
This year's World Championship will be held in Tokyo (Japan) from September 13 to September 21. Huynh Thi My Tien participated in the women's 100m hurdles event. This distance qualifying round started on September 14.
She just won the gold medal at the 2025 National Championship in Da Nang with a time of 13 seconds 52. Previously, Huynh Thi My Tien competed in the 2025 Asian Championship, achieving a result of 13 seconds 51 in the qualifying round and 16 seconds 69 in the final. This player has been ranked 7th in the women's 100m hurdles at the 2025 Asian Championship.
