According to regulations, athletes must meet the standards of the World Athletics Federation (WA) to participate in the World Athletics Championship. However, countries without qualified athletes still have the opportunity to receive a special allowance.
Currently, Vietnam Athletics does not have an official qualified athlete for the 2025 World Athletics Championship, so we will receive a special offer from the Organizing Committee. Huynh Thi My Tien is considered for this spot to compete in Japan.
The 2025 World Athletics Championship will be held at the main stadium in Tokyo (Japan) from September 13 to September 21. August 24 is the deadline for determining the admission quota, after which WA will announce the official list of athletes.
Huynh Thi My Tien has just participated in the 2025 National Athletics Championship, winning the gold medal in the women's 100m hurdles with a time of 13 seconds and 52.
She is the current champion of the women's 100m hurdles at the SEA Games with a result of 13 seconds 50 set in 2023 in Cambodia.
The World Athletics Championship is held in a cycle of 2 years/time. We were once given a special chance to participate as Nguyen Thi Oanh at the tournament held in 2023.
