Attending the program were: Mr. Trinh Van Quyet - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, General Director of Vietnam Television, along with leaders of ministries, departments, central agencies and guest delegates.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Trinh Van Quyet - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission emphasized that the birth of a specialized sports television channel of national stature is a necessary step, meeting the increasing needs of society and contributing to spreading the spirit of physical training in the community.
According to Mr. Trinh Van Quyet, each sports program needs to contribute to arousing patriotism, will to rise up, love of movement and building a healthy lifestyle in the whole society, especially for the young generation.
A strong nation is not only strong in economy, defense or science and technology, but also must be strong in physical strength, will and spirit. The strength of a nation originates from the health of each citizen; the stature of a nation begins from the stature of each person," he said.
According to the development orientation, VTV6 not only focuses on reflecting professional sports life but also spends significant time on school sports, community sports, amateur tournaments and traditional sports associated with the cultural life of Vietnamese people.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam - General Director of Vietnam Television said that besides broadcasting top tournaments and major domestic and international sports events, VTV6 also aims to honor inspiring stories, spread the spirit of overcoming difficulties, positive lifestyles and awareness of health training in society.
Through the VTV6 Sports channel, Vietnam Television wishes to create a communication space connecting sports with culture, education, economy and foreign affairs; contributing to spreading the spirit of solidarity, will to rise up and aspiration for development of the Vietnamese nation; and at the same time promoting the image of a dynamic, integrated and rich in identity Vietnamese country and people to international friends through the positive values that sports bring," Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam affirmed.
VTV6 is developed synchronously on VTV's digital platforms, helping to expand public access and bring a more convenient multi-screen viewing experience for viewers.
The birth of VTV6 is expected to contribute to promoting the mass sports movement, raising awareness about health training and creating a community connection space through the positive values that sports bring.
