Attending the opening ceremony were Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen - Deputy Director of the Department of Physical Education and Sports; Mr. Tran Anh Tu - Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF); Mr. Nguyen Van Phu - VFF Secretary General, Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament; Ms. Ha Thi Bich Hong - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen province; Mr. Pham Hai Anh - Member of the VFF Women's Football Committee; Mr. Hoang Van Phuc - Head Coach of the national women's football team.
The opening ceremony also had the presence of Mr. Tran Anh Minh - General Director of Thai Son Bac Electrical Equipment Trading Co., Ltd., representative of the main sponsor of the tournament, along with representatives of agencies, units, and clubs participating in this year's season.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Phu said that the 2026 season marks an important turning point for Vietnamese women's football when it is organized for the first time in a home-away format.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Phu, the new model helps clubs play at home, strengthens connections with fans and localities, and creates conditions to improve the professional quality of the tournament. In addition, VFF also pilots the licensing of women's football clubs to gradually improve the management system towards professionalism.

The National Women's Football Championship - Thai Son Bac Cup 2026 has the participation of 7 teams including Hanoi I, Hanoi II, Thai Nguyen T&T, Than Khoang San Vietnam, Phong Phu Ha Nam, Ho Chi Minh City I and Ho Chi Minh City II.



The teams compete in a two-round round-robin format in the home-away format from June 20 to October 23 to calculate points and overall rankings. The champion team will receive a cup, a gold medal, a prize of 500 million VND and represent Vietnam to participate in the 2027-2028 Asian Women's Club Championship.

On the opening day, there were 3 matches of round 1 including Thai Nguyen T&T vs Phong Phu Ha Nam, Ho Chi Minh City I vs Ho Chi Minh City II and Hanoi I vs Hanoi II.
